DEI in the Arts
At UC Davis, we believe that the arts provide a powerful platform for advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across our university and community.
New! Meet us there!
Starting in the 2024-25 season, our Meetups offer a new way to connect with the arts at UC Davis. These informal gatherings are meant to encourage organic connections and shared experiences around DEI-themed events.
DEI in the Arts, founded in the 2021-22 academic year, is a partnership between UC Davis Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts that leverages the transformative power of the arts to foster engagement, understanding and celebration of diverse cultures and perspectives.
We are excited to host a range of co-sponsored events, including performances, meetups and receptions that are open to all members of our community. These events provide a welcoming space for everyone to engage with the arts in meaningful ways and to celebrate the rich cultural tapestry that defines our university.
Presented by UC Davis DEI and the Mondavi Center
UC Davis DEI demonstrates its commitment to the arts by co-sponsoring events with the Mondavi Center. We encourage everyone to look for these special events and purchase tickets to attend. At a select number of these events, we also offer the following opportunities for connection and conversation:
- Reception Events: For several of our co-sponsored events, the division of DEI hosts a free reception. Light appetizers and nonalcoholic beverages will be served. Open to everyone, these gatherings are a great opportunity to meet and engage with colleagues before the ticketed event.
Meetup Events: Come as you are and meet up with new and old friends, including your fellow students, faculty members or colleagues! These events are designed to highlight the inclusivity and diversity in the arts.
